Well, yeah...Czech republic is more of a lager/wine country. Vodka is as popular as in the UK in CZE. When it comes to spirits, they have their home-made plum brandy (much stronger than vodka too).

Should get Repka and Ward to do a Hammers Jailbird double act.

In Soucek we trust.

We need some fresh legs in centre midfield anyway, Noble and Snodgrass are at the end of their careers in the top flight.

Czech Rep is better known for Pilsner, isn't it? Wouldn't mind a few bottles of West Ham Czech Pils.

Re: Hammers in czech media
It is possible to play with 3 defensive midfielders especially if all three are athletic and capable of breaking forward and scoring a goal leaving the other 2 behind covering.

If this Kral is half decent which by all accounts he is then a 4-3-3 is more of an option.

Kral-Rice-Soucek

Sounds like a promising brew

Probably get more coverage over there than over here.

Our match report was about 10th story down on sunday night on the BBC, after at least 2-3 separate Liverpool stories, all the other match reports and some other sports.

The Alex Kral story seems to have some legs as the russians are going trough it as well.

I don't want DR to leave, far from that...but if he is leaving for Chealski in the summer, it would be nice to to see us learn from past mistakes a think ahead.

Re: Hammers in czech media
Wonder if we will see West Ham branded vodka and shot glasses in the gift shop?

If we get anymore of these Eastern Europeans I may well start blending in Vodka chasers with me pint of Guinness or ale. :-)

The "Vodka Boys" Coufal and Soucek are turning out to be real bargains in today's market. Also we are known as a Easter European friendly club with a few of vodka drinkers down the years. Ludo and "Mad Tommy" come to mind.

Is Repka still in clink btw?

I checked out the Alex Kral stats on transfermarkt

Re: Hammers in czech media
After the Czechs golden generation of very decent players in the 90's they have had a fallow period...turns out they were brewing a new batch. Hungary are also starting to churn out some useful players. Maybe we need some more scouts in that part of the world...

Could have been Macavennie who seems to know most of the best Scottish players.
I notice Steve Gerrard is interested in signing Lewis Ferguson for Glasgow Rangers maybe in the next window. Ferguson was released by Rangers at the age of 14, and made his name at Hamilton Accies before Aberdeen signed him a couple of years ago. His uncle Barry played for Blackpool against West Ham in the 2012 Play off final, and his father played for Rangers way back. Lewis is a Rangers fan but I think he wants to come down to England where the money is so much better. I've seen him develop greatly in the last couple of years and am positive he would be an ideal replacement for Mark Noble.

Re: Hammers in czech media
It’s not enough just to have rice anyway, if he is a utility player that can do two positions then that’s what we need.

Yes blueeyed, why don’t people acknowledge we will keep Rice all part of the next level plan.

Leroysboots

There's an excellent midfield player called Lewis Ferguson at Aberdeen. He won Scotland's young player of the year in May this year. He's only 20 and is going to be a top footballer in my opinion. David Moyes will know all about him. If we want a bargain,we should get him before his value soars.

Marco Marosi, Coventry city goalie really looked the part against Birmingham last night. He's a Slovak though, not Czech!

WE need players with abilty to add to our top quality squad ,giving us more depth and choice.

This is about acheiving and maintaining the next level

Lets face it, we all know Rice is off to Chelsea, so lets look at alternatives, good planning

Re: Hammers in czech media
If Soucek says he's ok then that's good enough for me. I'm pretty sure he's also telling Moyes how to manage a football team too.

Sven Roeder 10:26 Sat Nov 21
Re: Hammers in czech media
We can always do with good players especially if they are like COUFAL & SOUCEK
If RICE or SOUCEK are missing we look a bit feeble so definitely need more cover with NOBLE & SNODGRASS winding down
